Mission of the project

The mission of Silverwing Asylum is to provide an exciting and immersive virtual haunted asylum experience while raising funds and awareness for the American Cancer Society Strides against Breast Cancer. Our event combines elements of interactive storytelling, puzzle-solving, and suspenseful gameplay to engage participants in a thrilling and memorable journey into the world of Silverwing Asylum.

Through this event, we aim to:

  • Raise Funds for Breast Cancer Research and Support: We are committed to supporting the American Cancer Society Strides against Breast Cancer, an organization dedicated to funding research, providing patient support, and promoting early detection and prevention of breast cancer. By organizing the Silverwing Asylum event, we aim to contribute significantly to their efforts and make a positive impact on the lives of those affected by breast cancer.
  • Create an Immersive Experience: We strive to provide participants with a fully immersive experience that transports them into the haunting world of Silverwing Asylum. Through meticulous set design, atmospheric elements, and engaging gameplay, we aim to captivate and entertain participants while allowing them to explore the mysteries and secrets of the asylum.
  • Engage the Second Life Community: We seek to bring together the vibrant Second Life community and provide them with a unique and memorable Halloween experience. By fostering community engagement, collaboration, and participation, we hope to strengthen the bonds within the Second Life community while raising awareness about breast cancer and the importance of supporting research and patients.
  • Promote Virtual Philanthropy: Silverwing Asylum exemplifies the power of virtual platforms to create real-world impact. By leveraging the immersive capabilities of virtual environments, we encourage participants to contribute to a noble cause and make a difference in the fight against breast cancer. We aim to inspire virtual philanthropy and demonstrate the potential for virtual worlds to be a force for positive change.
  • Advocate for Breast Cancer Awareness: In addition to fundraising, we aim to raise awareness about breast cancer, promote early detection, and encourage individuals to support breast cancer patients and survivors. By incorporating educational elements and collaborating with relevant organizations, we strive to spread important messages about breast cancer prevention, treatment, and support.

Through our mission, we hope to unite the Second Life community, foster a sense of togetherness, and create a meaningful and impactful experience that leaves a lasting impression on participants
